Tick bites - Useful information

🕷️ Tick Bites – Information for Patients

We have recently received a significant increase in enquiries about tick bites and requests for blood tests.

If you have been bitten by a tick but have no symptoms, blood tests and antibiotics are not routinely recommended, as they are unlikely to be helpful at this stage.

Instead, remove the tick safely, keep an eye on the bite, and monitor for symptoms over the next few weeks. If you develop an expanding rash or flu-like symptoms, please contact the surgery for assessment.
