Types of appointments

At Widcombe Surgery, we offer different appointments to help you get the care you need as soon as possible.

Urgent appointments -

Widcombe Surgery runs an emergency surgery on weekdays from 08:00 – 10:30. The purpose of the emergency surgery is for patients who urgently need to consult with a doctor on the same day when there are no appointments available.

From the 19th September 2024, requests for urgent appointments must be made by completing an online form which can be found here. If you have difficulty completing the form you can call us on 01225 310883 and we will assist you. The online form will be available from 730am each morning until 1030am or until we have reached the safe limit capacity for patient requests whichever is sooner.

It is not appropriate for patients to use these appointments to request sickness certificates or repeat medication. It is also not appropriate for long standing problems which may require a longer appointment slot. It is not possible to specify which doctor you will see at the emergency surgery.
